By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Please review this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our privacy practices and your choices regarding your information.
Account Information: When you create or access an account using Sign in with Apple, we receive information made available through that service, which may include an identifier associated with your account and your display name. Depending on your Apple settings and the information you choose to provide, we may also receive other account information made available by Apple. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Prayer partner / invite-code data: If you generate, share or redeem an invite code or otherwise use the prayer-partner feature, we may collect and maintain information necessary to establish and manage the connection, including the accounts that are connected, the relationship type you select (e.g., parish or friend), and limited prayer or activity information made available through the feature (such as prayer-streak completion), so that it can be shown to your connected partner.
Subscription Information: If you purchase a Genuflect Plus subscription through Apple’s App Store, we may receive information regarding your subscription or entitlement status that is necessary to provide access to subscription features. Payment transactions are processed by Apple, and we do not receive or store your full payment card information.
Screen Time data: If you enable Screen Time blocking, app-selection and blocking configuration is managed on-device using Apple’s Family Controls framework. To the extent this information is processed solely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers, we do not collect or store it.
Usage and diagnostic information: We may collect limited technical, device, usage, and diagnostic information relating to your use of the App, such as app interactions, device or operating-system information, crash information, and similar diagnostic data, to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
We may use the information we collect to:
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers. We may disclose information to third-party service providers that process information on our behalf and assist us in operating, maintaining, securing, or providing the App and its features. These may include providers of hosting, infrastructure, authentication, subscription management, analytics, diagnostics, and artificial intelligence services. These providers are permitted to process personal information only for the purposes for which we engage them, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
Apple. We use Apple services for certain App functionality, including Sign in with Apple and subscription purchases through the App Store. Information processed by Apple is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Prayer Partners. If you choose to connect with another user through the prayer-partner feature, certain information associated with the feature, such as your display name and relevant prayer-streak or completion activity, may be visible to that user. We do not share the content of your written reflections or examens with your prayer partner unless you affirmatively choose to share that content through functionality that permits such sharing.
Legal and Safety Purposes. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; protect our rights or property; investigate fraud, security issues, or violations of our Terms of Service; or protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
Business Transactions. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not disclose written reflection or examen content to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with applicable law, and protect our rights and users. Account information and related data are generally retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to applicable legal requirements and our normal backup and retention processes.
You can delete your account at any time through the App’s settings, subject to the data retention practices described above. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. You can disable the Screen Time blocking feature, and prayer-partner connections at any time; these are all optional. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law (such as the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information); you can exercise these by contacting us using the details below.
The App is not intended for children under 9, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 9. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 9, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information transmitted to and stored by our servers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than the country in which you reside, including by our service providers. Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps to provide appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the App or by other appropriate means, as required by applicable law. The “Last Updated” date above indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
